Ocean Fishing
The daily adventure typically begins after breakfast at the Lodge where you'll board one of our well-equipped fishing vessels staffed by experienced and knowledgeable guides. As you set sail, you'll be surrounded by the breathtaking coastal scenery that Kodiak offers.
During the day, you'll have the chance to reel in an impressive array of fish species, depending on the season and conditions.
- Salmon: Kodiak is famous for its salmon runs, with multiple species such as Chinook (King), Coho (Silver), Sockeye (Red), and Pink salmon available at different times of the year.
- Halibut: These massive flatfish are a favorite among anglers, offering a thrilling fight and delicious fillets. Caught daily within five minutes of the lodge. Limits are 2 per person per day. *Note: Federal regulations prevent halibut fishing on Wednesdays.
- Rockfish: An assortment of rockfish species can be found in Kodiak's deep waters, Yellow-eye, Black, Quill back, Tiger, Dusky and Widow to name a few.
- Lingcod: Known for their aggressive strikes and powerful fighting, lingcod are another prized catch, commonly weighing 20-50Lb.
- Alaskan cod: Pacific cod and other cod species provide a tasty addition to the day's haul. There are no daily limits.
Your trip will be custom tailored to your group's preferences with the experienced crew providing guidance on techniques, gear, and regulations.
River Fishing
Raspberry Island, situated near Kodiak, is renowned for its lush landscapes, abundant rivers, and thriving salmon runs, making it a dream destination for anglers seeking a personalized and unforgettable fishing experience.
- River Exploration: The heart of your adventure lies in exploring the island's rivers, each offering a unique fishing experience. Your guide will select the best river based on the time of year and the species you wish to target.
- Salmon Fishing: Kodiak Island is particularly known for its salmon runs, which include various species such as Chinook (King), Coho (Silver), Sockeye (Red), and Pink salmon. Depending on the season, you'll have the chance to hook into these magnificent fish, known for their strength and delicious taste.
- Fly Fishing: If you're an avid fly angler, your guide can arrange a fly fishing experience. Kodiak Island's crystal-clear waters provide an ideal setting for casting and presenting flies to eager Salmon, Trout and Dolly Varden.
- Wildlife Encounters: While fishing, you'll likely encounter an array of wildlife native to the island, including bald eagles, sea otters, seals, and possibly even bears. These sightings add an extra layer of excitement and wonder to your trip.
Fish Processing
Our lodge takes care of your catch with our fish processing service. We offer 50 pounds of processing per person at no additional charge for lodge guests, ensuring your fish are cleaned, filleted, and expertly packaged. The best part? Your catch is frozen on-site, preserving its freshness and quality. Should you exceed this generous allowance, there is a nominal fee of $2.00 per pound for the additional processing. Our goal is to make sure your prized catches are prepared to perfection, ready to savor or transport home, while providing you with flexibility and convenience during your stay.

Kodiak Big Timber
Kodiak Big Timber is a unique and enchanting destination located on secluded Raspberry Island, just off the coast of Kodiak. This pristine wilderness offers an incredible array of natural wonders. From the front porch, guests are treated to breathtaking views of diverse wildlife, including whales, orcas, soaring bald eagles, and playful sea otters as they gracefully leap from the waters right in front of the property.
Nestled amidst towering old-growth spruce trees, Kodiak Big Timber encompasses a sprawling 190 acres of unspoiled beauty. The property is thoughtfully equipped with a wood-fired "Banya," and a cozy fire pit allowing guests to savor the joys of outdoor relaxation. Furthermore, Starlink internet ensures that guests can stay seamlessly connected with the outside world while enjoying this remote paradise.
The Cabins at Big Timber
The trio of primary cabins neighboring Kodiak Big Timber offer a welcoming home-away-from-home experience. These elegantly furnished en-suite cabins feature either a king-size bed or two twin beds, complete with a full bathroom and expansive windows that grant you mesmerizing views of the ocean. Should you desire an additional twin-size bed, our attentive staff is readily available to accommodate your request.

Two Sister's Cabin
For those desiring privacy the beachfront Two Sisters’ cabin is nestled between giant spruce trees overlooking Kupreanof Strait. Two Sister’s Cabin is a “dry cabin” that sleeps four—furnished with a gas-powered generator, drip oil heater, outhouse, and woodfired Banya (sauna) for bathing. A creek running through the front yard provides a steady source of fresh water. In Addition, Two Sisters’ cabin also has a two-burner gas stove, dishes, silverware, a percolator coffee pot, a mini fridge, and a BBQ grill, --just what you need for a week in bush Alaska.
