Airport Pickup: Once you have booked your flights to Kodiak, Alaska, simply let us know your arrival details, including flight information and arrival time. Our friendly and professional staff will be ready and waiting for you at the Kodiak Airport. 

Comfortable Transportation: We provide comfortable and reliable transportation to and from the airport. You can expect a safe and comfortable ride that will allow you to relax and start immersing yourself in the breathtaking Kodiak wilderness even before you reach our lodge.

Flight Scheduling for Airport Pickup at Kodiak Big Timber Lodge:

To ensure a smooth airport pickup and transfer to Kodiak Big Timber Lodge, we kindly request that guests schedule their flights to arrive at Kodiak Airport during the following windows:

1. Sunday Arrivals: If you plan to arrive on a Sunday, please schedule your flight to arrive after 1:00 PM local time. Our airport pickup service will be available to greet you and transport you to the lodge.
2. Wednesday Arrivals: For guests arriving on a Wednesday, please schedule your flight to arrive after 3:00 PM local time. We'll be ready to pick you up from Kodiak Airport and facilitate your journey to the lodge.

These arrival windows have been carefully selected to ensure that you have ample time to clear airport procedures, collect your luggage, and join our transportation service. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these recommended arrival times, as it allows us to provide you with the best possible service and a hassle-free start to your Kodiak adventure.

Return Flight Scheduling for Kodiak Big Timber Lodge:

For the convenience of our guests, we recommend scheduling return flights from Kodiak Airport as follows:

Saturday Departures: When planning your departure from Kodiak, we suggest scheduling your return flight for after 12:00 PM (noon) local time on a Saturday. This will allow you to conclude your stay at Kodiak Big Timber Lodge at a relaxed pace, enjoy a final morning at the lodge, and ensure you have ample time for airport check-in and security procedures.

By scheduling your return flight in alignment with this recommendation, you'll have the opportunity to savor your last moments in the pristine wilderness of Kodiak Island and leave with cherished memories of your stay.

Alcohol Policy for Guests at Kodiak Big Timber Lodge:

At Kodiak Big Timber Lodge, we want to ensure that our guests have a safe and enjoyable stay while respecting their preferences and the serene wilderness environment that surrounds us. To maintain a harmonious atmosphere and ensure the well-being of all our guests, we have established the following alcohol policy:

1. BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage): We do not provide alcohol to our guests. However, we warmly welcome guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy during their stay. Feel free to bring your favorite wines, beers, spirits, or other alcoholic drinks that you love.

2. Responsible Consumption: While we encourage you to relax and savor your beverages, we kindly ask that you consume alcohol responsibly. Please be mindful of your own limits and the comfort of fellow guests.

3. Public Areas: You are welcome to enjoy your beverages in common areas, such as the dining room and lounges. These spaces provide excellent opportunities to connect with fellow travelers and share stories while appreciating the natural beauty surrounding us.

4. Cabins and Private Spaces: You are also free to enjoy your drinks within the privacy of your own cabin or lodging space. We want you to feel at home and comfortable during your stay.

5. Respect for Nature: As part of our commitment to preserving the pristine wilderness of Kodiak Island, we ask that guests do not litter or leave empty containers in the natural environment. Please dispose of your empty bottles and cans responsibly in designated areas.

6. Legal Drinking Age: All guests consuming alcohol must be of legal drinking age in accordance with local regulations.

7. No Alcohol Sales: Please note that we do not sell alcohol on the premises.

Cancellation Policy:

Deposit: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.

Full Refund for Early Cancellations: Cancellations made 90 days or more prior to your booking date will be eligible for a full refund of your deposit.

Partial Refund for Late Cancellations: If cancellations are made within less than 90 days of the booking date and another booking is made in its place for the same time period, deposits will be refunded.

Cancellation by Kodiak Big Timber: We will provide a full refund of your deposit if we are forced to cancel for reasons beyond your control, such as mechanical issues, scheduling errors, or nonavailability.

Weather & Cancellations: Please be aware that Kodiak's weather can be unpredictable. While we strive to ensure your booking is enjoyable and safe, we cannot guarantee weather conditions.

Nonrefundable Cancellations: Cancellations within 90 days of the booking date are nonrefundable.

Safety First: Safety is our top priority. If our Captain/Guide deems weather conditions to be unsafe, you will be offered a raincheck, partial refund, or full refund, depending on the circumstances and at the discretion of the Captain/Guide.

No Refunds for Weather-Related Cancellations: Refunds will not be offered if you choose to cancel due to weather conditions.

No Refunds for Weather Delays: Schedule changes due to weather are not considered grounds for a refund.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we aim to be fair and flexible in our cancellation policy. Our commitment is to provide you with a memorable and safe experience while respecting the challenges posed by Kodiak's weather. The answer to this depends on what you would like to target during your trip. World-class fishing starts  in June and continues through October.  Hunting Season begins in August and continues through December. 

April/May - Spring Kodiak Brown Bear Season.

June - Halibut, pacific cod and other saltwater fish begin to feed heavily alongside a massive migration of humpback whales. King salmon runs vary but increase in the ladder weeks of June. Sockeye Salmon will peak in the later weeks of June. Kodiak Brown Bears begin to gather on the rivers. 

July - Lingcod Season opens July 1st, Sockeye Salmon begin to wain by the end of July. Pink salmon will be abundant saltwater. King Salmon will be layered in ocean with thousands of Pink Salmon. Lingcod, Halibut and rockfish are abundant.  

August - Pink Salmon will clog the rivers and streams by the middle of the month. Silver (Coho) Salmon are feeding heavily in saltwater, starting their run up river at the end of August. Halibut begin to come close to the river mouths into shallow water feeding on the salmon spawn. Sitka Blacktail Season opens August 1st. Bucks are generally in the alpine near the tops of the mountain. 

September - Coho (Silver) Salmon are in full force this time of year. Halibut, lingcod, pacific cod and rockfish are plentiful. Sitka Blacktail bucks remain at higher elevations. 

October - Duck Season opens Oct. 8-Jan. 22. Fall Kodiak Brown Bear Season opens Oct. 25th-November 25th. Saltwater fishing is still amazing!

November -  Ducks are plentiful this time of year. As the weather begins to get much colder Sitka Blacktail begin moving down to the beaches. Saltwater fishing is still excellent on calm weather days. 

December - Deer can be found all over the beaches near the lodge. Hundreds of ducks fly into the calm water areas surrounding the lodge on a daily basis.
